In a neo-Renaissance building on Hořice's main square, the museum keeps historical, prehistoric, ethnographic and art collections and stages themed exhibitions. It also looks after the Sculpture Gallery, the Museum Czech Road Racing and the Masaryk Tower of Independence. It was founded in 1887 by local enthusiasts for old monuments.
