Mainz carnival has a long history, and this museum traces it from 1837 to the present across about 350 square metres. You will see medals, jester caps, sceptres, guard uniforms and photographs, plus a large number of video recordings. It sits in the renovated Proviant-Magazin, and an attached archive holds more than 27,000 further items.
