Geowissenschaftliches Museum der Universität Göttingen

These earth science collections go back to the early 18th century, growing out of a cabinet of natural curiosities set up around the time the university was founded. The museum presents rocks, minerals and fossils. Over the centuries it took in collections and gifts from well-known scholars, among them Leibniz and Blumenbach.
