Gedenkstätte Geschlossener Jugendwerkhof Torgau

On the grounds of the former closed youth work camp, this memorial recalls the repressive institutional upbringing in East Germany. The exhibition explains how the system of special homes and youth work camps sought to force young people into conformity. You can also see the dark detention cells, the original courtyard and remains of the outer walls.
