Feuerwehrmuseum Hordorf

The old hose tower and engine house in Hordorf are worth a look in themselves, and now house a fire brigade museum. It traces how firefighting worked in the countryside, showing only vehicles and gear that small village brigades really used. The oldest piece is a leather fire bucket from 1868. You will also find uniforms, including the full kit of the 1874 fire captain with leather helmet and red horsehair plume, and trailer pumps from the 1930s to 1960s, most still in working order.
