Ferropolis
Gräfenhainichen, Sachsen-Anhalt
On a peninsula in the Gremmin lake, a former open-cast lignite mine, stand giant excavators and spreaders in an open-air industrial museum. The machines reach up to 30 metres high and 120 metres long. The site, called the city of iron, is an anchor point of the European Route of Industrial Heritage.
