Denkmalhof Kernstockhaus

Gampern, Oberösterreich

Wooden houses from the early 17th century are rare today, and this small farm museum in Gampern occupies one built in 1605. It began as a retirement cottage and is dedicated to Ottokar Kernstock, the priest-poet who wrote the anthem of Austria's First Republic. Most of the furniture dates from the 15th to 17th centuries and gives a picture of everyday life 400 years ago.
