DDR-Alltagsmuseum Malchow
Malchow, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Housed in the town's former cinema, this museum takes you back to everyday life in East Germany. Displays are grouped by theme: cinema, weddings, childhood, working life, holidays, fashion and leisure, along with photo, television and radio technology. Upstairs, the Kinderland exhibition is devoted to childhood memories. Former GDR citizens will find the familiar, while children and visitors from elsewhere will discover plenty that is new.
