Schachmuseum Ströbeck
Halberstadt, Sachsen-Anhalt
Ströbeck calls itself the chess village, and this museum on the Platz am Schachspiel is devoted to the game. Since 1991 it has gathered items from the village and from chess enthusiasts at home and abroad, and it was Germany's only public chess museum. It is set in the old council building, converted for the purpose in 2005.
