Dom und Domschatz Halberstadt

The cathedral treasury holds what once furnished Halberstadt Cathedral and served its services: vestments, missals, altar vessels and tapestries, much of it medieval. The collection goes back to the founding of the bishopric in the 9th century, and some pieces predate the Gothic cathedral itself. Among them is a gospel book that came to Halberstadt in the 9th century as a gift from Abbot Rabanus Maurus.
