Designed by Gottfried Semper in neo-Renaissance style, this long gallery building closes the Zwinger courtyard on its north side and faces Theaterplatz. Built between 1847 and 1854, destroyed in 1945 and rebuilt by 1960, it now houses the Old Masters Picture Gallery and the Sculpture Collection up to 1800 of the Dresden State Art Collections.
