Westwallmuseum Konz

In the middle of Konz, where the Saar meets the Moselle, a restored Westwall bunker known as Villa Gartenlaube holds an exhibition on the Westwall in general and the Konz fortress in particular. The defences were meant to stop an enemy breakthrough in the Moselle valley, and 25 bunkers were built in the municipality alone. Despite its subject, the museum sees itself as a memorial for peace.
