Steinzeitdorf Randau

Magdeburg, Sachsen-Anhalt

On the northern edge of Randau, in Magdeburg, a Stone Age settlement has been rebuilt across about two hectares. You can walk through a Neolithic post house, a Linear Pottery longhouse, an early medieval pit house, a clay bread oven and a palisade fence. Tools, weapons and household goods of each era are displayed inside, and old crops such as einkorn and emmer grow on site. It all began with the remains of a 4,500-year-old house found in a dune by the Elbe.
