Stadtmuseum Neustadt an der Waldnaab

Neustadt an der Waldnaab, Bayern

Housed in the town's former schoolhouse from the 17th century, this museum shows how people in Neustadt an der Waldnaab lived and worked. Glass and lead crystal, for which the town is known, are a focus, including a vase about a metre tall in gold ruby. Other sections cover crafts and trades, town history, and treasures from burghers' houses, churches and monasteries. You will also find a smoke kitchen, the Prague Infant Jesus once owned by the Princes of Lobkowitz, and a glove of Emperor Charles IV that was pledged as security.
