Stadtmuseum Dornbirn
Dornbirn, Vorarlberg
Set in a roughly 200-year-old patrician house, the Lorenz-Rhomberg-Haus on Dornbirn's market square, this museum tells the story of how the town came to be what it is. The permanent display uses selected objects and artworks to take up key chapters of local history, and changing shows pick up regional and cultural themes. The town archive occupies the ground floor of the three-storey house, while a separate textile pattern archive of over 300,000 items is kept on nearby Marktstraße.
