Stadtmuseum Bludenz

Set in the Upper Gate, a late-15th-century tower of Bludenz's town walls at the western end of Kirchgasse and Herrengasse, this town museum holds prehistoric, art-historical and folk-life collections. The gatehouse is part of the visit: a 1948 fresco on the outside recalls the confirmation of the town's privileges in 1420, while a painting of about 1774 on the town side shows the Archangel Michael fighting Satan.
