Römermuseum Osterburken

Osterburken, Baden-Württemberg

Just a few hundred metres from the Limes and the remains of the Roman fort, this archaeology museum shows what life on the edge of the Roman Empire was like. At its heart is a Roman military bath, discovered in the 1970s and preserved under a protective building. The museum belongs to the Baden-Württemberg state archaeology museum and doubles as an information centre for the Upper German-Raetian Limes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It stands on the edge of the town centre, easy to combine with a walk to the fort ruins.
