Rhein-Schauen

Lustenau, Vorarlberg

The Lustenau works yard is all about the Rhine and its regulation, which began with the Swiss-Austrian treaty of 1892. An exhibition offers hands-on technology, and the former service railway is part of the visit: in season you can ride behind a historic electric locomotive from the 1940s or a steam engine through the nature reserve by Lake Constance.
