The museum occupies a historic building known as Mince (the Mint), at the lower end of the main square in Jílové u Prahy. Its collection grew from a gift by local-born Leopold Čihák, who in 1891 gave the town hundreds of historical charters, maps and other items. It is a good place to learn about the town and its surroundings.
