Prywatne Muzeum Literatury im. Władysława Reymonta w Bielsku-Białej

Bielsko-Biała, śląskie

This small museum in Bielsko-Biała's Old Town is the life's work of one man, the weaver Tadeusz Modrzejewski, who set it up in a rented flat in a tenement on ul. Pankiewicza. Its core is made up of classics of Polish literature, above all Władysław Reymont, copied out by hand in pen and illustrated by Modrzejewski himself, beginning with the novel The Peasants in 1982. Alongside the books are paintings, sculptures and other keepsakes he collected or made. He decorated the rooms himself, and they bear the stamp of his passion.
