Prašná brána
Praha, Praha
This late Gothic gate marks the line between Prague's Old and New Towns, right beside the Municipal House, and the Royal Way to the Castle begins here, along Celetná Street. Work started in 1475 on what was meant as a showpiece entrance to the city, but it was only completed at the end of the 19th century in a neo-Gothic style. The tower is 65 metres tall, and 186 steps lead up to a viewing gallery at 44 metres.
