Podještědské muzeum

Český Dub, Liberecký kraj

This regional museum in Český Dub is housed in the Blaschke villa and was founded in 1919 by a group around the teacher Václav Havel. It holds ethnographic and historical collections from the Ještěd foothills, along with the literary estate of the writer Karolina Světlá. Part of the collections is devoted to Petr Dillinger, a painter born in the town. The museum also looks after the Romanesque-Gothic Johannite monastery, whose Romanesque chapel of St John the Baptist has been open to visitors since 2001.
