Papiermühle Plöger

Schieder-Schwalenberg, Nordrhein-Westfalen

A former paper mill on the Niese near Schieder, now open as a museum. It was built in 1703 for Count Rudolph of Lippe-Brake and run by the Plöger family for generations. It was modernised and extended from 1870, and the listed building tells of the shift from handcraft to machine production.
