Památník Karla Čapka

Stará Huť, Středočeský kraj

Karel Čapek spent his summers from 1935 until his death in this empire-style house by a pond, which he named Strž. Works such as War with the Newts and The White Disease were written here, and he received figures from Czech culture and politics. The exhibition, opened in 1997, presents the writer and his wife, the actress Olga Scheinpflugová, and the attic holds a separate display on another journalist and writer.
