With several branches in Tarnów and the surrounding districts, this museum has its main seat at Rynek 3. Its collections go back to 1927, when the city founded a museum from the municipal archive, craft guild deposits and gifts from residents. Until 2024 it was known as the District Museum. A sensible first stop when exploring the town.
