Muzeum v Bruntále

Bruntál, Moravskoslezský kraj

Bruntál Castle grew out of a late Gothic town fortress, which the lords of Vrbno turned into a Renaissance residence with an arcaded, triangular courtyard in the 16th century. Its present look comes from a rebuilding finished in 1769. The regional museum here runs exhibitions, and the preserved interiors include a rich picture collection, an armoury and a library. A park surrounds the castle, and a clock tower stands by its northwest wing.
