Muzeum Prasy Śląskiej w Pszczynie

Pszczyna, śląskie

A museum devoted to the press of Upper Silesia, set in an old townhouse from the turn of the 19th century that once stood outside the town walls. It follows the story of Silesian newspapers and the people behind them, and is named after Wojciech Korfanty. It opened on the 140th anniversary of the first Polish newspaper in Upper Silesia, the weekly Tygodnik Polski Poświęcony Włościanom, printed in Pszczyna in 1845–1846. The building itself was saved from demolition.
