Muzeum Poczty Polskiej w Gdańsku

Gdańsk, pomorskie

The museum tells the story of the Polish Post in the Free City of Danzig between 1920 and 1939. Its most valuable items are documents and relics of the defence of Polish Post Office No. 1 on 1 September 1939. It stands on Obrońców Poczty Polskiej Square, on the old Zamczysko hill in the Old Town, once the site of a stronghold and a Teutonic castle. It also remembers the defenders and their families.
