Muzeum - Izba Pamięci Kopalni Wujek w Katowicach

Katowice, śląskie

Inside the grounds of the Wujek coal mine in Katowice's Brynów district, in a former clothing store, this museum recalls 16 December 1981, when striking miners were put down after martial law was declared. You will find mementos of those days, items from the history of mining, and photographs, books, medals and stamps tied to the mine. Look out for the staged scene of a miner facing a riot policeman and the 1:100 diorama of the events.
