Muzeum Filumenistyczne w Bystrzycy Kłodzkiej

Bystrzyca Kłodzka, dolnośląskie

Fire is the theme here, in the form of matches and lighters. It is the only museum of its kind in Poland, opened in 1964 in a town where a match factory operated from 1945. It stands on the Small Market Square in a former Protestant church and parish school built in 1821–1822 and rebuilt a year later to a design approved by Karl Schinkel. Local factory workers converted the buildings for the museum as volunteer work.
