Muzeum Cechu Rzemiosł Skórzanych

Warszawa, mazowieckie

Two old craft workshops, a shoemaker's and a saddler's, fill this Old Town house on Wąski Dunaj, complete with nineteenth-century tools such as a machine for stitching shoe uppers and a saddler's stitching horse. Guild documents include a statute of the saddlers signed by King Stanisław August Poniatowski, alongside guild insignia from the 16th to 18th centuries. You will also find leather goods, some dug up during the postwar rebuilding of the Old Town, miniature shoe models from 1910–1965, and portraits of Saints Crispin and Crispinian, patrons of the trades. The entrance is from Szeroki Dunaj.
