Wiener Neustadt's city museum sits in a listed former Dominican monastery, linked to the exhibition church of St. Peter an der Sperr. Its collection grew out of a cabinet of antiquities kept in the town hall and catalogued in 1824. Over time guild objects, coins, art from dissolved monasteries, porcelain and Biedermeier furniture were added.
