Museum Alte Kulturen

Housed in Hohentübingen Castle, this university museum covers some 40,000 years of cultural history. You will find the oldest known figurative artworks, ancient musical instruments, finds from the prehistoric pile-dwelling sites, and antique sculpture and art. The Tübingen Waffenläufer is part of its classical archaeology collection, and the world's oldest giant wine barrel, from 1549, can be seen in the winter months only.
