Moormuseum Ibmer Moor

Moosdorf, Oberösterreich

The Ibmer Moor, the bog on the doorstep, is the subject here. Set in a former servants' dwelling, the museum shows over 120 photographs of flora, fauna and peat cutting, along with botanical specimens and local animals. Traditional peat-cutting tools recall how important the bog once was economically, and a video room offers more than twenty short films. One room holds a bog landscape created by the artist Karlheinz Gmeilbauer. Guided tours are available by arrangement.
