LWL-Museum Textilwerk

Bocholt, Nordrhein-Westfalen

This industrial museum beside the Bocholter Aa river traces how thread became cloth and how the people of the Münsterland lived from it. It covers the machinery and the work as well as the economy, daily life and culture of textile making, mainly in the 19th and 20th centuries. The museum lies on two sites on either side of the river, linked since 2018 by a broad footbridge. The weaving mill building was built specially for the museum and opened in 1989.
