Kupfermuseum

Pähl, Bayern

More than 1,000 copper works spanning over 6,000 years, from the Copper Age to modern times, fill a restored manor farm by the Ammersee. Art dealer Siegfried Kuhnke gathered the collection, which traces the eras of coppersmithing, with a peak from the Gothic period to Art Nouveau. The most valuable pieces are fire-gilded Gothic liturgical vessels of a kind usually found in church treasuries. The museum lies between Andechs Abbey and Dießen.
