Philip Johnson designed this museum of modern and contemporary art, his only museum building in Europe. The collection focuses on Expressionism, international sculpture and recent art, with paintings by Picasso and Beckmann among them. A sculpture garden around the building has works by Rodin, Henry Moore and Richard Serra. It opened in 1968.
