Kulturhistorisches Museum Görlitz

Görlitz, Sachsen

This museum of local and cultural history is spread over three listed buildings: the Baroque house on Neißstraße, and the Kaisertrutz and Reichenbacher Turm on Platz des 17. Juni. The Kaisertrutz is a massive cannon bastion built from 1490 to guard the western city gate, later used as the main guardhouse of the Prussian garrison. It has housed a museum since 1932. The towers are among the most recognisable sights of Görlitz.
