Jüdisches Museum Worms

Worms, Rheinland-Pfalz

This is a good place to begin with the Jewish history of Worms, and of the other SchUM cities too. The museum stands in the Rashi House beside the synagogue, where Judaica were already on show early in the twentieth century and where exhibition rooms have existed since 1982. The story of the collection itself is part of the visit: a first small museum opened in 1924, and Isidor Kiefer's documentation preserved a record of what the November Pogrom of 1938 destroyed.
