Izba Pamięci Jerzego Kukuczki w Istebnej

This is the house in the Wilcze hamlet that Jerzy Kukuczka bought from his family in the 1980s, now filled with mementos of the Himalayan climber. You will find photographs from his expeditions, climbing gear, medals and decorations, and books. The memorial room opened in 1996, seven years after he died on the slopes of Lhotse, and is run by his wife, Cecylia. Visits are arranged by prior phone call.
