Industriemuseum Blaahaus

Kiefersfelden, Bayern

Near the Austrian border in Kiefersfelden, a workers' house from 1696 tells the story of industry in the countryside. It once housed the men who tended the blast furnace of the ironworks, known locally as Bläher, which gives the Blaahaus its name. The listed building was moved from the works site to its present spot in 1996. The redesigned exhibition looks at the industrial past of the region and the daily life of its workers.
