Historisches Bahnbetriebswerk Gera

A ten-track engine shed with a turntable and a striking early 20th-century water tower with a spherical tank: this railway museum occupies part of the former locomotive depot just north of Gera's main station. Exhibits include the steam locomotives 23 1028, 23 1074 and 52 8001, a railway crane, a luggage van and other vehicles. The former Reichsbahn cultural centre is part of the site too.
