Eutiner Schloss
Eutin, Schleswig-Holstein
A bridge guarded by two mythical beasts leads into the courtyard of this four-winged castle, which grew out of a medieval fortress. It served as a summer residence of the Dukes of Oldenburg, and its rooms are largely original, with paintings, furniture and decorative arts from the late Baroque to Neoclassicism. The large ship models, gifts from the Russian tsar's family, are especially well known. A landscaped park surrounds it.
