Europäisches Brotmuseum

Radolfshausen, Niedersachsen

Follow bread from field to loaf at this museum in Ebergötzen. Its permanent exhibition covers the history of grain, milling and the baker's trade, and looks at bread in religion, art and custom as well as at world hunger. The museum occupies a forestry office built in 1711 on the grounds of a former castle. Outside you can see farm tools, a post windmill built in 1812 and a water mill with an undershot wheel that came from Tyrol.
