Erzherzog Carl-Haus

Deutsch-Wagram, Niederösterreich

In June and July 1809, Archduke Charles, commander of the Austrian army, set up his headquarters in this house, before and during the Battle of Wagram. It now holds the Napoleon and Town Museum of Deutsch-Wagram. The listed building is one of the older houses still standing in the town, at the crossing of the Angerer Bundesstraße and Landesstraße 6. Anyone curious about the Napoleonic Wars and local history can see it on the very spot where events unfolded.
