Eisenbahn-Museum Jünkerath

Jünkerath, Rheinland-Pfalz

Jünkerath was once a railway junction on the Cologne–Trier Eifel line, shaped by a locomotive depot that closed in 1966. The museum covers more than 140 years of railway history with a focus on the Eifel. Exhibits range from a large pig-iron ladle wagon and a driving axle of steam locomotive 44 1211 to lamps, signals, telephones, Morse equipment and train destination boards. There are also over 100 railwaymen's caps and an archive of historic route plans.
