Deutsches Hugenottenmuseum Bad Karlshafen

Bad Karlshafen, Hessen

Why does a small town in northern Hesse have a French-sounding name and a strict baroque layout? This museum answers that with the history of the Huguenots and Waldensians. Bad Karlshafen was founded in 1699 as a town for Protestant refugees from France. The displays fill two floors of a former tobacco factory on the Hafenplatz.
