Deutsches Edelsteinmuseum

Idar-Oberstein has long lived from cutting and setting stones, and this museum shows gems and ornamental stones from around the world in more than 10,000 exhibits. Local minerals, above all agates, and the way they are worked take pride of place. Engravings and sculptures from many countries round out the displays. It stands on the Hauptstraße in the Idar district.
