Brahms-Haus

Baden-Baden, Baden-Württemberg

Johannes Brahms spent his summers from 1865 to 1876 in the attic of this former farmhouse in Lichtental, composing as he went. It is the only one of his homes in Germany preserved unchanged. His first and second symphonies and the F minor piano quintet were written or finished here. The museum documents his life, with his summer rooms at its heart.
