Seitenstetten Abbey stands in the Mostviertel along the Moststraße, roughly halfway between Amstetten and Steyr. Founded in 1112, it is still home to a Benedictine community. A school is thought to have existed here early on, and the abbey still looks after parishes in the surrounding area.
